Event & Program Development Committee

Mission

In support of the SCAA mission, The Events Committee plans and promotes various association social and fund raising events including industry networking, safety and operational related workshops, golf tournaments and more as requested and approved by the Board of Directors. Events will be vehicles to grow and bring value to membership and shall be integral to continued growth of the SCAA’s membership.

Objectives & Tasks

    • Develop relationships
    • Increase membership by promoting SCAA's vision among members and the community
    • Organize and host at least six events per year
    • Provide educational and networking opportunities for the aviation community
    • Manage mediums to communicate and make resources available to membership

      • Regularly update the SCAA website and event pages
      • Distribute e-mail announcements and newsletters
    • Educate the general public about the benefits of business aviation and career opportunities

Debi Carpenter
Executive Director @ SCAA
Debi Carpenter has more than fifteen years of international and aviation-related sales and marketing experience. Debi has an extensive and diverse background in aviation marketing, including directing and managing the sales and marketing efforts of multiple FBOs, charter operations, aircraft sales, as well as multiple maintenance and avionics service centers.
Megan Cunningham
General Manager, STA Jets
Ms. Cunningham has over 15 years of aviation experience. Beginning her career with Raytheon in Wichita Kansas, Ms Cunningham has a long history of Aircraft Management experience including Charter Sales, International Dispatch, Marketing and Accounting. Megan was formerly the Vice President of Charter Services for Jet Source as well as Flight Analyst for Motorola Mobility. With a passion for team leadership and a distinct focus on customer retention Megan is tasked with providing daily oversight of the business as well as leading growth initiatives at STAjets.

Yvonne Guerra
Community Relations/Communications, City of Glendale
Yvonne Guerra manages the communications and legislative affairs for the San Gabriel Valley Airports Association. The SGVAA is composed of a network of general aviation airports in the San Gabriel Valley, including Brackett Field and El Monte Airport. As a Public Affairs Officer at Los Angeles International Airport, she has managed multiple aspects of LAX’s public/media relations, marketing, community outreach, and external communications programs. She writes/produces news releases, advert copy, newsletters, brochures and legislative advocacy materials along with determining online content. She also organizes special events and works as a liaison with partner organizations. She is a member of AOPA, California Pilots Association, Aero Club of Southern California, FAA FAST Safety Program, So Cal Pilots and volunteers with the Friends of Ontario Airport, Flight Path Learning Museum, and the EAA’s Young Eagles.
